Leave The Cleaning Aside
On his death bed, she promised him that she would move on and live a good life. One that full and with no regrets.
What she wrote on the anniversary of his death has stayed with me since that date. I thought it is worth repeating and remembering forever:
“On his death bed, he expressed the regret of wasting most of his life working overtime to make ends meet, regrets of putting things off to tomorrow…. He always thought tomorrow was a given, that it was guaranteed … But it wasn’t! Not one person has that guarantee!!!
People…. You never know what you have until it’s gone! Take the time to celebrate your life, to celebrate the people that choose to be a part of your life, to celebrate the gift of having another day added to your life!
Today, just for me, do me a favour: leave the cleaning aside, stop putting things off until tomorrow, stop working overtime (find another way to make ends meet-calculate the total hours you have every night with your loved ones and you shall see that you already spend WAY too much time away from them while at work!!!). Take the time to actually spend your time LIVING!!!”
She is keeping true to her promise and living everyday as if it is the last, making lasting and loving memories for their boys.
This is exactly what I came to realize a few years ago which led to us letting go of much of our previous way of living in favor of actually “living life”. Let go of all the things that are not necessary, time-wasters, financial burdens — and Love Life.
