The Old Cliché Applies – Home Is Where The Heart Is
If you like the idea of simple living, you may like the idea of a tiny house development. Living in town or in a city can be more expensive than living in the country but there is one way of keeping expenses down while enjoying easy access to all that communities have to offer.
For those of you that follow the simple living idea, you’ll understand that “simple” doesn’t mean that you are doing without. It is downsizing so that you can live a better life but still have many of the luxuries you have become accustomed to.
Small Villages/Big Cities
I love the small village idea. Although I like the beauty of the countryside, I don’t think I would enjoy the isolation. I need some socialization and because I can’t drive anymore due to my disability, I feel the need to be in a community living situation so that I don’t have to rely on someone to get me where I want to go all the time.
The ideal place for me would be a very small house in a very small town, with a view of the lake, the mountains, open fields or forest yet not isolated. I know, that’s asking a lot but one can dream…
I find people are more relaxed and friendly than a big city atmosphere. My dream is to find a small place (or build one) on a smallish piece of property in a small town that has easy access to everyone we need to live comfortably – along with a view of some sort.
I don’t care for city living. Too many people running in all directions all the time, trying to get everything done. They have no time for anyone else. For the most part, city living leads to stressful and unfulfilling lives. Been there, done that…no thanks.
Having lived in both types of situations, I can honestly say that life in a little community is much more fulfilling. You have the opportunity to meet your neighbors and because life is more relaxed, you actually talk with each other.
You can get involved in community activities and get to know other people – people that you will meet on the street or at other events.
Most importantly, when you combine living in a very small house with living in a very small town you will have the opportunity to enjoy life more. The demands on your time will lessen. Your cost of living will decrease. Your stress level will lower. Your health will improve.
You will have the time and money to enjoy your life. Ask me how I know this is true.
